Bible Scriptures for Loneliness – Finding The Provider of Your Heart
(Scroll to the bottom for Scriptures on Loneliness)
You turn to God in desperation. The silent whispers spoke from your heart to the one who can handle it all.
“I can’t do this anymore. “Jesus, it is time for you to take the wheel! I feel lost and completely alone. Where are you, God? Why aren’t you answering? Why aren’t you speaking into my heart? I need you and you are nowhere to be found.”
But there you are speaking truthfully, with no answer in return. ALONE! All Alone you think.
A deeper conversation with God
You sit in what feels like an empty room, speaking to God. You push and pull through the thoughts that are weighing you down. The crowd of distractions is constantly seeking your answer. God sits in the corner listening, waiting for you to reach out to Him. You don’t see Him, but you cry out to Him repeatedly. Nothing happens. Your cries are blocked by worry, anxiety, and the hurts that are weighing you down.
As overwhelming distractions hound your mind, you push through your day. Each morning when we arise to strive for Christ, but instead are being shot down by the tormenting cycle of despair.
You say; “I feel disconnected from God. Is He even walking with me anymore? I pray daily with no answers.”
But God says; “I love you, my child. You are not alone. I am here. It is time you let go of the things of the world and hold tightly to the truth of my word.” (Hebrews 13:5)
The word of God is alive and sharper than any double-edged sword
You may feel like no one sees you, that no one cares and, if you leave, no one will miss you. But I have news for you, God cares!
We are easily manipulated, without warning, by the shaded and caustic thoughts from the enemy. Through the distractions, we are certain that the whispers we are hearing are our own. Satan, the father of lies, wants nothing more than to push us away from a relationship with our creator.
“He was a murderer from the beginning, and does not stand in the truth, because there is no truth in him. When he lies, he speaks out of his own character, for he is a liar and the father of lies.” – John 8:44
The lies of Satan occur through his deception of the truth. He is a crafty serpent. (Genesis 3:1).
We are made for a purpose
What promises do you hold near to your heart when trouble arises? When you feel lonely do you fall short and allow the world to overcome your desires? Loneliness is a feeling formed from this earthly world. Invented by Satan to pull you away from God’s intended purpose for your life.
When we do not “feel” fulfilled, we lose hope in seeing the greater picture. We long for a sense of purpose because God created us to have a purpose in Him. Satan would have us believe that our longing and desire to fulfill God’s purpose is nothing more than a setup for failure. And in this failure, we believe we were left stranded.
“The infallible truth of God says who we are. Not the fallible lies of the wicked one.” – Jen Schreiner
Equipping our hearts and preparing our minds for a battle that God will always win. We don’t necessarily need God to speak to us through a burning bush (Like Moses), but it would be helpful. We simply need to take up the Armor of God.
Fulfillment in Christ will change hearts & bring focus to His great plan.
When he doesn’t answer right away, we shift our thoughts and instantly we feel disconnected. He isn’t just ignoring you. He hears you. 1 Peter 3:12 says; “For the eyes of the Lord are on the righteous and His ears are attentive to their prayers, but the face of the Lord is against those who do evil?”
We must shift our focus.
Dear sister in Christ; It is time to move forward. We were not made to dwell on the distractions and situations that leave our hearts in despair. We are uniquely made by God for His purpose. It is time to exam these moments as growth opportunities.
For we know that suffering produces perseverance; perseverance builds character, our character will give us HOPE. Because we know that hope we have lies in Christ.
Remember who God is …
Your Creator – Isaiah 42:5
Your Father – 1 John 3:1
Your Provider – John 6:35
Your Refuge – Proverbs 18:10
The hope of God’s great plan for your life.
I can’t tell you how many times I have gotten sucked into the deceptiveness of Satan’s lies. For years, I would pray to God to help make my other website, Inspiring Savings, be successful. I would see my peers thriving and I remained hard at work. I felt so alone. My peers boasted in their success and I sat at my desk feeling sad and disappointed that I couldn’t share in their happiness.
In addition, it can be very lonely as a writer/blogger. Friends often don’t understand all the work it takes and peers only look after their own success. Not to mention, Satan continually showed me, day after day, through the use of social media, how much more successful others were. I struggled deeply. Praying for answers and heard nothing more than crickets. I felt lost and alone.
Never Giving Up Hope
I never threw in the towel and gave up, thinking that one day God would change it all around. I knew He wanted me to work on my blog. After all, He allowed that door to open through a storm. We may never see the steps that God has allowed us to walk on until He opens our eyes. After years of praying, He did just that.
He showed me that I was praying for the success of Inspiring Savings for my benefit and not of His. My measure of success for that blog was built on traffic and monetization. Even though, I kept telling Him; “I will continue sharing my knowledge of frugal living to help others save”. In the background, I was still caught in the trap of counting my accomplishments.
Then one day, I heard him speak loudly into my life; “It is now time to save others for me.”
That powerful message rocked me to my very core. You bet, and, as a result, I found myself on my knees, thanking Him.
He then placed a calling in my life, to start another blog. However, I could never have been able to start on this platform without gaining knowledge from the other. His plans and actions are carefully laid out. Perfect in every way. We so often get stuck in the here and now and forget God has a big plan for our lives. Each situation we are faced with is a step in that plan.
Moments that shake us
We know that these quakes of change are not meant for us to lament, but rather a connection point for advancement. For His kingdom to grow on earth, we must do everything for His glory (not for our own success).
Now when we stand in accordance with His word, He will disrupt our lives, build our character, and prepare us for His plans. We are all different in talents and uniqueness.
Let’s Pray Together
Dear Heavenly Father,
We thank you that we can stand on your word knowing that your promises are true. We ask that you come into our lives and fill it anew. Help us to awake each morning willing, able, and ready to seek opportunities. Help us to remain focused on you and not the distractions that Satan conveniently plants in our minds. As we walk through this storm, let us remember that you will never leave us or forsake us. During this time of need, we ask for your peace that surpasses all understanding. We love you and thank you for this opportunity to grow in our faith.
In your precious name, we pray. – Amen!
