Bible Scriptures for Comfort

We are on a quest! A journey that will provide rich meaning and abundant joy. Beware that this is no ordinary walkabout. On this expedition, don’t expect an effortless walk in the park. We will come across many hills with deep valleys and torrential river crossings. But as we work hard toward our mountainous climb, a reward awaits.
This reward comes with one catch.
We must give up control and allow our guide to escort us. Easy peasy, right? We know that our guide is an expert.
He will make our trek to the top of the mountain smooth and will help us avoid common traveling mistakes. An effortless success that will reap a great reward.
This decision to use a guide seems easy enough. A no brainer decision.
But yet, we completely abstain from using our greatest guide. Opting to hold on to our own oversight. We take on the stress and worry, wondering if our decisions were the right ones. Now, if we use our guide, giving Him control, we would be without such stressors.
In times of struggle or uncertainty, we can only find true peace and comfort through our Lord and savior. The ultimate guide.
“For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.” – Jeremiah 29:11
A promise of hope.
Jesus provides us with His promises of hope. His words will speak the solemn truth that our souls need to hear.
Often we can forget that no matter the circumstances, He is in control of our lives. Before we were born, He chose us for a special plan. A pathway that only He knows.
“Before I formed you in the womb I knew you, before you were born I set you apart; I appointed you as a prophet to the nations.” – Jeremiah 1:5
It is in our human DNA that we seek to control every situation. We worry about what is yet to come; we stress over the factors that leave us numb, and our what-ifs make us anxious. Our world here on earth is ruled by the king of uncertainty and deceit.
Freedom in Christ
It is in these times that we need to guard our hearts and remind ourselves we are not walking this journey alone. Remembering that Jesus came to set us free. The freedom we find in Christ will provide us with peace, hope, and above all else perseverance.
“Peace I leave with you; my peace, I give you. I do not give to you as the world gives. Do not let your hearts be troubled and do not be afraid.” – John 14:27
As Joyce Meyer says, “When you’ve got a problem: don’t go to the phone, go to the throne.” Take these verses to heart. Memorize them. Get on your knees and pray to our Greatest Guide.
These Bible verses are sure to offer comfort and hope.
