Welcome,
I’m so glad you are here.
I’m Jen Schreiner, a faith-driven woman with two kids and a pretty amazing husband. I am fueled by my passion for sharing God’s word (and a few cups of coffee).
Over the years, I found myself getting too wrapped up in the things that didn’t matter here on Earth. I made a pledge to myself and prayed that God would release me from the fear, confusion, and self-deception that was truly holding me back from my passion (Matthew 7:7). I stop procrastinating and began my next writing journey of becoming a book author.
My Testimony
Writing began for me in the fall of 2011. I created a blog called InspiringSavings.com. That same year, my doctor diagnosed me with Thyroid Cancer. If it wasn’t for that slight hiccup in my life, I know I would not have started a career in writing. I remember the day I got the phone call with my formal diagnosis. My doctor asked me to sit down. I wasn’t sure what I was bracing for, but when it blurted out the news, my first reaction was “PRAISE GOD”. You may think this may have been a strange response, but you see I was suffering from all kinds of weird symptoms and every single test returned normal results (except for a biopsy). Going through radioactive treatment allowed me the time to start my first blog. I spent a few weeks away from my family because of that treatment.
In the midst of all my concerns, God was setting the stage for my life. My favorite bible verse (just one of many) comes from Jeremiah 29:11. “For I know the plans I have for you”, declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.” When I read that verse for the first time, it felt like a breath of air. I then felt the many weights of this world being lifted off my shoulders.
Certainly, saving money and showing others how to do the same is still a passion of mine. We are not meant to be chained to our things and trapped in unnecessary payments. But God revealed a new direction for my life. Repeatedly, I was being shown women who desperately needed God’s help. That they were allowing their fears to hold them back from God’s promises (just like me). Success at Inspiring Savings wasn’t always easy, but my love for helping others is what keeps me working hard.
Prior to becoming a blogger, I was and will always be a registered nurse. Earning my Bachelor’s Degree of Science in Nursing from Russell Sage College (In Troy, NY). I have a love for caring for others and helping those in need. I am proud to say that I can continue to do just that, just in a different capacity.
My Precious Family
My family is just amazing. God has blessed me so. My husband, Matt, refers to himself as my “blog supporter” and no matter what great idea I have in my head, he always grounds me. This is great because in my head I have so many “awesome” ideas, but they can be just plain crazy. My kids, Noah and Emily, both have a great sense of humor. They love to dance, sing, and be kids. Often driving us a bit batty.
Whatever your reason for landing on my website, I am so glad you are here. God works in mysterious ways, and I am sure this was no stumble.
I pray God shows up and speaks into your heart through the many articles and resources found on this site.
Much Love
Jen
